Based on Athens, pedal-producer Crazy Tube Circuits present the Space Charged Overdrive V2: a second-generation preamp tube effect pedal that's cut out for connoisseurs of that authentic, rich valve-sound. While some things have been kept the same - like the 12AY7 valve responsible for the pedal's unique overdrive effects - Crazy Tube Circuits have also taken user feedback from the V1 model to heart, resulting in number of welcome tweaks.

New Features

Two major new features are the gain and volume boost options, which open up a wide range to ease moving between clean and distorted tone. On top of that, the tone control has been revised and now offers a broader spectrum of brighter sounds, while the biggest change is probably the tight/fat switch. This switch has been added for low-frequency control, allowing you to toggle between tight metal tone and more beefed up sounds, all of which are perfect for overdrive-based experimentation. Lastly, when the inevitable eventually happens and you're forced to replace the original valve, it's worth bearing in mind that you can easily do this yourself using a dual-triode replacement valve.
